Illustration for -- Books That Heal organization
This is a project for the charitable organization "Books That Heal" that helps pediatric patients battling chronic illnesses write and illustrate their very own children's books to become published authors and illustrators!
The story I illustrated was told by the family of a boy who had epilepsy and was bound to a wheelchair. The purpose of the book is to look differently at people with special needs.
One of the characters is a girl from the school where the boy studied. Despite her popularity among her peers, the girl possessed curiosity and kindness and she wanted to be friends with a special boy.
The girl also helped create a playground for all children, including children with special needs.
The boy's fatal illness did not break his family even after he passed away. His mother is the author of this book. This touching story is about kindness, sincerity and compassion that helped her son feel a little better and more joyful.
